Years ago, The Cottage Farmhouse was just a dream in the hearts of Kim Serbus and Bailey Hanson. It all began with the love of antiquing and flea markets and a deep appreciation for the beautifully constructed barns scattered throughout the Midwest. While planning Bailey's wedding in 2014, the two were completely smitten with the charm of a barn wedding. They started looking for a big white dairy barn and enough land to spread out and create a beautiful landscape for a wedding venue. The first pieces they purchased for their dream business, before a property was ever found, were some old English rose china plates that quickly grew into a collection of pitchers, serving pieces and the like. Family and friends joined the hunt for each unique piece and now the barn and cottage are filled with velvet settees, petite chandeliers and well-worn farm tables.
The original property has been lovingly repurposed and overlooks 15 acres of lush countryside. Each space has been intentionally designed to capture the character of the original buildings while adding many options for ceremony and reception spaces. Now, more than a family business, friends have joined in to lend their talents to this special place where each guest can experience the true beauty of a barn wedding in Minnesota.
