Emma + Zac's unforgettable proposal & their Magical Wedding Day
At The Cottage Farmhouse, we’ve had the honor of hosting countless beautiful moments, but Emma and Zac's story is one of our favorites. They first visited us on a rainy day, but even through the rain, the magic of our venue shone through. It was love at first sight—they booked right after their first venue tour, knowing we were just the place for their wedding.
A couple of weeks later, Emma and Zac returned to see us again, this time under clear, sunny skies. The wedding pasture, a serene and romantic spot on our grounds, set the stage for an unforgettable surprise. With the sun shining down, Zac proposed in the very spot where they would later say "I do."
Fast forward to a beautiful autumn day in September, Emma and Zac celebrated their love and commitment at The Cottage Farmhouse in Glencoe, MN. Surrounded by family, friends, and the breathtaking beauty of our outdoor venue, their wedding day was nothing short of magical.
The groomsmen arrived in style wearing their favorite sports team gear while the ladies enjoyed getting ready in the Bridal Cottage. The ceremony took place in our lush outdoor wedding pasture, under a stunning floral archway crafted by Flowers by Jerry in an array of autumn blooms. Emma walked down the aisle in a breathtaking gown, her smile radiant as she met Zac’s gaze.
After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into our elegantly decorated barn for a reception that perfectly blended cozy charm with sophisticated elegance. One of the highlights of the reception area is the grand fireplace, which provides a warm and inviting focal point for the evening. The fireplace mantle was adorned with a stunning floral installation. This breathtaking display added a touch of natural beauty and romance to the room, perfectly complementing The Cottage Farmhouse.
The warm, inviting atmosphere was perfect for the heartfelt toasts, laughter, and joyous conversations that filled the evening. To add a unique and interactive element to the festivities, Emma and Zac included a giant crossword puzzle that guests could collectively fill out. This fun activity brought guests together, sparking conversations and laughter as they collaborated to complete the puzzle. It was a wonderful way for everyone to feel connected and part of the celebration, adding a personal touch to the evening. Before the dancing began, Emma made a delightful wardrobe change. She reappeared in a stunning, more relaxed dress that was perfect for dancing the night away.
